This room already had lovely bones, with generous ceiling height, decorative cornicing and a beautiful bay window. The pale walls and grey carpet felt quite cool, while the large timber wardrobe dominated the space visually.

The design introduces warmth through an olive ceiling, soft neutral walls and rich wood finishes. Carrying the olive across the cornicing draws attention to the room’s proportions and gives it a more enveloping feel. Arched wardrobe fronts and an organic-shaped mirror soften the lines, while the dressing table creates a useful corner beside the natural light.

Brass lighting, textured upholstery and touches of deep burgundy add depth without making the room feel busy. Together, these details create a bedroom scheme that feels calm and considered, with enough character to hold its own against the original architecture.
